What Retake Is, and What It Is Not
Retake is the best-known darker reinterpretation of the original build rather than a sequel to it. The title behaves like the other mod labels on this wiki: a creator reworked the same stage, published it under a name, and other creators reworked the rework. The catalog currently carries four builds using the word, and they are not four versions of one file - Sprunki Retake, Sprunki Retake Deluxe, Sprunki Retake Max Design Pro and ParaSprunki Retake each have their own page, their own presentation and their own related games. Nothing ranks them, and the wiki does not treat the plain name as the finished article. If you are comparing them, open two pages side by side and watch the first thirty seconds of each, because the differences show up immediately and no written summary substitutes for that.
Is Retake harder than the original?
No. The mixing model is the same; the change is mood, roster treatment and art.
Why do several builds share the name?
Because it is a popular label. As with phase numbers, the name is a creator's choice rather than a franchise entry.
Retake and the Horror Cast
Retake is where most players first meet the horror forms of Wenda, Gray and Black together, which is why it gets treated as the start of the darker side of the catalog. The profiles give a useful way in. Gray comes through the switch looking closest to himself - drooping ears, glowing eyes, a harder expression, an intact body - so a Retake-style build that wants a survivor figure has him ready-made. Wenda's portrait is the one people remember, built around a menacing face and a growing pupil rather than a broken body. Black changes shape instead of expression. Reading the three together explains why Retake reads as a story even though the build only implements a state change: the cast was designed to give the darker mode a range of reactions rather than one uniform shock.
Do all four Retake builds use the same cast?
They share the reference cast but differ in how much they rework it, which is exactly what to check on the pages before choosing one.
How to Browse the Retake Pages
Start with the plain Retake page, then open Deluxe next to it, then the variants. The pages carry a playable frame, the character lineup for that build, and related games that move you sideways rather than pretending there is an order. If a frame opens to a blank screen, that is a specific build failing rather than the site being broken - use the related games underneath it and note which one failed. That last habit is worth keeping for every mod family on this wiki: the label tells you the intent, the frame tells you the state, and only the second one is the truth about whether a particular build plays today.
Which one is the most faithful to the original cast?
The plain Retake page. The deluxe and max-design variants push the redesign further in their own directions.
Characters in this story
Wenda (Vocals, vocal layer): White, cat-eared Vocals performer who adds a vocal layer and stars in the Treatment mods named after her. Black (Vocals, hidden/dark vocal): Hidden Vocals performer in a top hat; placing Black on the stage switches the original game into Horror Mode. Gray (Effects, bass and effect layer): Gray, cat-eared Effects performer who carries the bass and effect layer, and one of the most talked-about characters in Horror Mode.
Is this story official canon?
Only what you can see in the games and what the creators have said is canon. Fan theories, ships, and AU ideas are labelled as fanon on this wiki.
